Women’s Health Care Nurse Practitioner Program (WHCNP)

A Women’s Health Care Nurse Practitioner (WHCNP) is an advanced practice nurse who provides women with continuing and comprehensive health care throughout their lives. WHCNPs provide well-woman care, reproductive and gynecological care, and prenatal and postpartum care with a focus on health promotion, disease prevention, health education, and helping patients make smart lifestyle choices.

Frontier Nursing University’s Women’s Health Care Nurse Practitioner Program (WHCNP) curriculum has a strong academic and clinical basis that teaches you not only to be a WHCNP, but also to be an entrepreneur and leader in the healthcare system.

Our faculty are committed to being present and supportive throughout your educational journey. And with FNU’s distance education model, your home community is your classroom. You complete your clinical practicum in your community, working closely with a practitioner.

What Can You Expect from Your WHCNP Program?

  • Complete your didactic coursework online at home
  • Full or part-time options available
  • Can be obtained either through a Master of Science in Nursing (MSN) degree or a Post-Graduate Certificate (PGC)
  • Two brief on-campus stays
  • Complete your clinical practicum in your home community

FNU students who complete the Master of Science in Nursing (MSN) degree program will have the option to continue on to the DNP program. Students who complete the Post-Graduate Certificate (PGC) program will have the option to continue on to the Post-Master’s DNP program.
