When we all intentionally follow these tenets, our students develop into dedicated healthcare professionals and compassionate providers.

Nurse-Midwifery

A growing number of health care organizations are embracing a collaborative model of health care and adding nurse-midwives to their teams. Our goal at FNU is to educate the next generation of nurse-midwives to ensure midwifery care is available to all who seek it.

On-Campus Visits

As part of our effort to create a real community of likeminded individuals through our programs, students participate in 1-2 on-campus sessions and meet staff, faculty, and their fellow students. Students experience an enriching, three-day on-campus new student orientation that allows them the chance for informal interactions in addition to reviewing courses and asking questions.

Once students have completed the didactic portion of their program of study, they return to the Kentucky campus for a skills-intensive five-day on-campus experience in preparation for their clinical practicum. Finally, a majority of our students choose to return to Kentucky for the commencement ceremony and one final “Hurrah!”. Every September, nurses from across the country invite their friends and family to join them in celebrating the occasion.

  • “FNU taught me to ‘Answer the Call’ whenever and wherever I am needed”.

Julian Williams, RN, CNSRN, FNP-C FNU Graduate
  • “I didn’t know what distance education would be like…I immediately felt connected”.

    Andrea Gutwein FNU Student
  • “The most meaningful part is the connections I’ve made with other students and with faculty”.
